Red-eared Sliders

A family of Red-eared Sliders soak in the sun at Chincoteague NWR, Virginia. This is a shot where a polarizer came in handy. Many photographers use polarizers to darken blue skies but do not realize how useful they can be for other shots near the water. Without a polarizer, the wet shells here would have been completely blown out and without detail because of the reflections from the sun.
