Whitetail Doe, Chincoteague NWR, Virginia

A Whitetail doe in Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, Virginia. Thanks to my friend and excellent photographer Dan Creighton for helping with the ID. Whitetail have long tails rimmed with white. Compare this shot of a Whitetail (formerly incorrectly identified as a Sika) to this one, which indeed is a Sika. Sika have darker chocolate brown fur, spots, and a full white rump with a very small tail.
